My Letter of Resignation (kind of)

I had a part time job with an insurance agency. The agent I worked for was very nice, however, he was never in the office. I had to work with a co-worker who was one of the meanest people that I had ever met. Yesterday, I woke up at 5 am in a panic because I knew I had to go to work and deal with this woman.  So I called to tell them, I just couldn't do it anymore. They told me she had called in sick and they really needed me. So I came in to help out and told them that it would be my last day. Since she wasn't there, I sent her this email to let her know why I left:

I have told Phil that I can no longer work here.

I have resigned effective immediately. I resigned because I could not bear the thought of coming to work and dealing with you. I feel that you made this a chaotic and hostile work environment. You treated me with flagrant disrespect even though I extended you respect. You bullied me and tried to instill fear in me. You gave me misinformation and then acted as if I was an idiot. Although I have no idea what goes on in your head, your behavior has lead me to feel that you are person who lacks compassion and patience yet you are abundant in cruelty.

In order to preserve my emotional wellbeing I had no choice but to quit.

I hope you find the peace that you so badly need. It is sad to see someone who is always in a state of misery. It is even sadder to watch that person punish everyone around them for it. I refuse to be your punching bag.

Good luck and I will pray for you.
